Completely Renovated Kitchen in Wheaton, Illinois
The customers wanted to completely remodel their 1980’s outdated kitchen. We removed the soffits, outdated cabinets, laminate countertops and linoleum flooring.
The kitchen had an existing standard size double hung window over the kitchen sink. One of the goals of the remodel was to allow more natural light into the kitchen by the sink. The existing double hung window was removed and a wider casement window was added with a transom window above it. Recessed can lights and undercabinet accent lights were added to compliment the natural light.
We installed red oak high grade hardwood flooring throughout the kitchen, eating area, hallway, laundry room and powder room. This gave the flooring on the first floor a cohesive feel.
The sink and appliance locations remained the same. We installed maple cabinetry with a glaze finish from a stock cabinetry line. We installed trim accents and a custom range hood to create a custom look. The design for the island also added to the custom look. We elevated the island and added decorative trim and panels to give it a furniture feel.
We installed stainless steel appliances, undermount sink and faucet. The microwave was integrated into the island.
Lastly, we added granite countertops and a decorative tiled backsplash with an accent pattern over the range to finish off this complete kitchen remodel.
